Tips to get rid of dry skin around nails

Dryness is the main reason for getting cracked skin around finger nails. If not treated, it can even lead to eczema, which is a dry skin condition.

Moisturizing is one of the easiest ways to combat and control the dryness of hands. This can make the white, thick skin disappear. But remember, proper moisturization is the key. Here are ways you can moisturize your hands better, so that you don't face the same problem again.

  • Fingers are among the most used and exposed body parts. So, the best trick is to use a hand lotion and massage for a few minutes.
  • If you like, you can even use coconut oil. But the key is to massage the area. Oil not only helps in moisturizing, but also strengthens the nails.
  • For best results, soak your hands in lukewarm water for 10 to 15 minutes every night. Dab them dry and apply a hand cream. Then take oil and apply on your nails and massage.
  • Also, increase the intake of Vitamin B in your diet. Dryness occurs due to the lack of the particular vitamin.
  • In case the problem persists, it's possible that you have food sensitivity. Food sensitivity occurs due to a mild reaction to certain foods. Consult a doctor in that case.
