10 Makeup Tips That Nobody Told You About PART 3 !!!

Colourful outfits teamed up with light and simple make-up makes for a perfect look. Follow these tips for that amazing look u always wanted:

1. Disguising Under Eye Bags
Most of us tend to just sweep a layer of concealer to the entire under eye area, but to really conceal bags, it’s best to highlight the crease and then apply a darker shade to the actual puffy area.

2. How To Fix Clumpy Mascara

Let’s face it, this happens to every tube of mascara over time. The problem is it dries out and then starts to form unattractive lumps. To help prevent this, don’t pump your mascara trying to get more on your wand; you’re basically pumping air into the tube causing it to dry out even faster.Although mascara should be replaced every 3 to 4 months, I use to replace mine much sooner just because it dries out so fast and creates undesirable results. But, there’s an easy fix for that! Add a drop or two of Visine (or any brand of eye drops) into the tube, and then rub the wand around inside. The Visine softens the mascara liquid, making it apply as if it were a brand new tube!

3. Lipstick Ready

Use a baby toothbrush to exfoliate your lips. To really get the job done, you can make a homemade lip exfoliate with sugar and coconut oil, or easier but not as effective, cover your lips in lip balm or petroleum jelly before scrubbing.

4. Make The Best Of Your Eye Shape

As important as your color choices are, the placement of your shadows and liners is just as critical; you can create just about any illusion that you want. With careful placement, you can make your eyes appear wider, closer set, more prominent, deeper set, etc. Determine what shape of eyes you have, and then accentuate them accordingly.

5. Tightlining

What is tightlining? It’s a way of applying your liner right in between your lashes. This is a great way to appear as though you’re not wearing any makeup at all, yet adding a little bit of color and definition to your eyes, and making the base of your lashes appear thicker.

6. Make Eyeshadows Pop

Have you ever purchased a vibrant color of shadow that once applied appears rather dull? The key to making those colors pop is a white base. Use a white eyeliner and cover your entire lid before applying the color of your choice.

7. The False Eyelash Look

False lashes can be a pain, not to mention time consuming! Here are a few ways to get the look without the hassle:
1. After curling your lashes, apply a thin layer of powder before applying your mascara. I just sweep a small blending brush across my compact and apply it to the top and bottom of my eyelashes. I’ve also heard that some people use baby powder, although I think they both have virtually the same effect; creating a base that makes them appear much fuller.
2. Apply two coats of mascara to the bottom and TOP side of your lashes, but wait 3-5 minutes in between each coat, otherwise they tend to get clumpy (not cute).
3. When applying your mascara, you don’t want to just move your mascara wand from the base of your lashes up. Make sure you are moving the mascara wand back and forth while going up. The left and right motion will make sure every lash is covered entirely, all the way to the tip.
4. Almost done! Now, check your lashes for any gaps. Use the tip of your wand to apply another coat of mascara to individual lashes where they look sparse. Even better, use a fine tipped liquid eyeliner to fine tune and fill in any gaps.

8. Lash Curling Secret

Get the most out of your lash curler by pinching at the very base of  your lashes, and then lifting the curler up into an inverted position. This creates double the curl and lasts much longer!

9. Heat Your Lash Curler

Hold a blow dryer up next to your lash curler for about 3-5 seconds. The heat works the same way as it does with your curling iron, giving you those flirty lashes that will last all day.

10. The Perfect Match

This is the one thing that no matter how well it’s applied, if it’s the wrong color, it will look terrible! We all dread that our foundation will give us a ghost face or even worse, that dreaded orange jaw line. Because your neck isn’t exposed to the sun as much as your face, it is much better for matching your true color.

Wedding hair tips for spring 2014

Whether you're getting married, being a bridesmaid or simply the guest of honor at a wedding this year, we've got the perfect wedding hairstyles for you - from classic up-dos to Boho down-dos.

Classic up-do

Classic up-dos can range from a chique chignon to an elegant ballerina bun. These up-dos are both incredibly simple to create and perfect to accompany any dress neckline. Whilst the chignon is more whimsical and quirky, the ballerina bun exhibits class and poise. A great tip, if you wish to choose the ballerina bun, is to place it as high on the crown of your head as possible, as this provides additional grandeur to your look - after all, you are the bride!

Boho down-do

Your wedding does not have to be on a beach in Mexico for you to be able to pull off the boho-look. Loose, effortless waves or waterfall twists can look beautiful whatever the style of your wedding. If you would rather not have all of your hair down, you can strategically place pins in your hair to hold the top layer up, creating a half-up, half-down look. Not only does this ensure your hair stays out of your face for the day, but the additional layer makes for an enchanting hair style.

Accessorise

If you opt not to wear a wedding veil, but would still like a little something extra in your hair, there are countless, beautiful accessories and hair pieces which can be worn. These include, embroidered and net head wraps, feathered clips for a vintage feel, a traditional and demure birdcage, a large statement flower, a floral headband or the ever popular tiara. The options are endless and most are suitable to wear with hair both up and down.

Short & sophisticated

For brides with cropped, pixie-style hair, do very little. This is because cropped dos are a statement style in themselves and so need very little else as they look bold enough on their own. However, if you want to add a little something, go for a simple accessory, such as the floral headband.

Root lift

Finally, nothing says grandiose and glamour quite like high hair! Stylists reccomend a root lift for those women who opt for simpler, flowing wedding gowns as opposed to meringue dresses. The root lift balances out the fluidity of the gown and can look sophisticated and stylish. This style can be easily achieved using a root-lifting product and massaging into the roots of wet hair, followed by blow drying hair in the correct technique (upwards and away from the root). For fine, limp hair, some light back-combing can do the trick. Be careful not to be too harsh on the hair.

Common beauty mistakes people make

Here are some common beauty mistakes people make, which need to be corrected

People tend to make certain mistakes about their beauty and lifestyle. Here are some of the most common mistakes that one should avoid -

1. Conditioning all over your hair:

After using the shampoo, people always condition their hair too to restore the moisture in them and to make them smooth and silky. But a common mistake made here is that they tend to sue the conditioner all over their hair. Note that a conditioner is only supposed to be rubbed in the hair and NOT on the scalp!

2. Using perfume on your clothes:

Perfume is meant to be sprayed on your body and not on your clothes. Not only does the perfume stain your clothes, the clothes smell when mixed with the perfume smell will result in a kind of unpleasant smell. Avoid!

3. Not checking the neck's skin:

While applying any moisturizer, cream, make-up or anything, people generally apply it only upto the chin. This is a big mistake because the neck is also a part of the whole face's beauty. Not only is it visible from the clothes that you wear, the neck skin is much thinner and delicate than the skin on your face. Do not ignore the neck.

4. Using moisturiser around eyes:

Moisturizer is used to hydrate your skin and keep it soft and supple. But when you use it around your eyes, it in fact increases the puffiness and makes you look tired and sleepy. Do not use a moisturiser around your eyes.

5. Showering too much:

Some people might like to shower for longer time and believe in being totally clean - with the soap and shampoo removed completely from their body. But scrubbing and cleaning too much leads to removing the essential oils and moisture from your body.

Egg White Face Mask Recipe for Beautiful Skin !

Want to have healthy glowing skin without paying for expensive face products? Just go to your fridge and pull out an egg. By using this facial on oily skin, you'll noticed an immediate reduction in oils. The egg white draws the oils out, while the egg yolk moisturizes. You will want to do both parts of this one if you have oily skin. This also works very well for firming the skin

It is great also as for tightening and toning skin. It works wonders for greasy skin as it helps shrink large pores on the skin surface thereby reducing excess sebum. Large pores are potential breeding grounds for bacteria that cause bulbous zits and cysts. Egg white also contains an ingredient known as lysozyme, an enzyme which is potent in eradicating acne-causing bacteria by digesting their cell walls.

All you need is egg white of one egg and a few drops of fresh lemon juice and this egg mask is ready.

Egg is full of proteins and makes the skin supple and bright.

Steps

  • Take the egg white in a clean bowl.
  • Add lemon juice and lightly whisk.
  • Lemon juice help reduce the smell of egg.
  • Make sure your face is properly cleansed. Rinse your face with warm water to open up the pores.
  • Using a face brush gently apply the egg on your face.
  • Let it sit for 15-20 minutes until it's dry and hard.
  • Wash it off with warm water.

Warning: Eggs may carry salmonella bacteria. Be careful not to get raw egg in your mouth, eyes, or nose, and wash up well afterwards, including hands, face, sink/handles, and surfaces.

How to perfect your lashes

Your eyelashes define your eyes and make then appear larger and more attractive. The right care and makeup can go a long way in thickening and beautifying them

1. Have a clean start

Clean lashes are important if you want your eyes to look healthy. Before doing your eye makeup, ensure that all grime and makeup residue are completely wiped with cleansing milk meant for the eyes. Remnants of old makeup can make your eyes look tired and full of unsightly shadows.

2. Condition your lashes

Invest in a good quality lash conditioner. It helps stop breakage of your delicate lashes, and makes them appear thicker and longer.

3. Use a lash curler

Most celebs and fashionistas swear by the eyelash curler because it can instantly open up your eyes and lengthen your lashes. For perfectly curled lashes, use a curler from the roots to mid-lash length. Be gentle. Never yank the curler from your lashes after each turn.

4. Powder them

Separate your lashes with a translucent powder when you are priming up for eye makeup.

5. Mascara matters

Mascara is as important as kohl in eye makeup, since it makes your eyes look more interesting. Don't start with a thick first of mascara. Apply a thin coat and let it dry. Then, apply a second coat to get a natural non-clumpy look. Too much mascara can make your lashes look poker straight, sparse (because they are clumped together) and unnatural.

6. Handle with care

Your lashes are delicate and will break if not handled carefully, so when applying and removing makeup, use gentle strokes. Don't scrub vigorously to remove mascara. Take a cotton pad soaked in eye makeup remover solution or baby oil, and hold it close to your lids. Once the makeup loosens a bit, gently wipe it off.

Be a beauty budget mixologist

Who hasn't been tempted to splurge on expensive beauty products? But do you know there are certain products you can save on, to make it easier to purchase the ones that are really worth spending on?

Says beauty expert Shahnaz Husain, "Investing in expensive beauty products is not the way to get a gorgeous and flawless complexion or hair. Rather, choosing products intelligently will yield better results. Expensive products will not always give you the best results; it's the quality that matters."

Splurge

Skin serum:

Popularly known as a 'magic potion for the skin', a serum has multiple benefits. "Invest in a good skin serum that will protect your skin from the damage that occurs due to constant exposure to sun and pollution," says Husain. It helps restore moisture and elasticity to your skin, and helps regulate oil production, thus making your skin look healthy and fresh.

Nourishing night cream:

A nourishing night cream works wonders for your skin. It revitalises your skin from within, thus making it look radiant and glowing. That is the reason why you should choose a good night cream which contains vitamin E and other hydrating agents that will make your skin look healthy.

Make-up remover:

Says cosmetic physician Dr Jamuna Pai, "Make-up residue can clog your skin pores and lead to several skin related problems. Thus removing make-up completely is as important as wearing it correctly. Using a moisturising cream to remove make-up may not clean it off sufficiently, thus it is worth splurging on a make-up remover that sweeps away dirt and oil with minimal strokes, for a clean and fresh skin."

Sunscreen:

"Sunscreen is not a cosmetic product, but an essential requirement for healthy skin. Sunburn is caused by UVB rays of the sun. Therefore, it is worth spending more to ensure that your sunscreen not only stays strong against the harmful rays of the sun, but also protects it from it for extended time duration," says consultant dermatologist and cosmetologist Dr Geetanjali Shetty.

Save

Face wash:

A face wash is a product that you need to use on a daily basis, especially during summers. So, it doesn't make sense to splurge on a product that you will require every now and then. Choose a face wash that comprises neem, tulsi and sandalwood that will nourish your skin and also provide hydration.

Toners:

Many women often go in for the most expensive toners available in the market. But do you know, you can also make one easily at home with the same ingredients? Says Husain, "A toner with rose petals is great during this season. Place a few rose petals in a small pan. Take two cups of boiling water and pour it over the petals and allow them to cool to about room temperature. Then take a strainer and pour this into a glass bottle. You can also add a few lemon drops. Refrigerate and use it daily after you have taken off your make-up."

Cleansers:

You must not invest too much in cleansers, because just like face wash, it's a product for daily use and one wouldn't want to spend too much money on it. However, if you wish to buy a cleanser, get one that is best suited for your skin type.

Double-duty moisturiser:

A double-effect moisturiser is the best way to save money. These moisturisers work as a foundation as well as contains SPF. So, you don't have to invest separately on a foundation or a sun-protecting lotion. These tinted moisturisers give a perfect glow while protecting you from the harmful rays of the sun.

Naturally highlight your hair

Using chemicals results in dry, brittle, thin hair that is limp and lifeless. We all want to look beautiful and it doesn't harm doing some tricks to enhance your beauty. So this summer dump those saloon trips to get highlights instead with these easy tricks lighten hair naturally at home.

Lemon:

The best known of the natural hair highlighters is lemon. Put lemon juice mixed with honey onto your hair, leave mixture on your hair and sit in the sun. Wash your hair with normal shampoo. Condition your hair before and after using lemon because it can dry your hair. You will see your hair have become a shade lighter.

Chamomile tea:

Boil a pot of chamomile tea and allow it to cool completely. Wash and condition your hair normally, then rinse your hair with the tea. Relax outside in the sun with your tea-drenched hair for an hour or so. Repeat every other day until your hair has beautiful natural highlights.

Vinegar:

Wash with vinegar. Vinegar works to lighten hair. Wash and condition your hair normally, then rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar in the last rinse. Doing this on a regular basis will slowly lighten your hair over time.

Black tea:

Black tea is full of tannic acid which can bring out highlights in your hair over time. Brew a few cups of very strong black tea (using several tablespoons/teabags) and pour it through your hair. Let it soak for up to 30 minutes before rinsing out with warm water.
