  • Set your basis with a good quality eyeshadow base on your eyes for a longer-lasting makeup and to prevent a mess.
  • Apply a little brown or beige eyeshadow over your eyelid.
  • Apply a gold eyeshadow on your eyelid and under the eye.
  • Put some darker eyeshadow at the end of your eyelid, as in a smoky eye.
  • Apply some glitter under your lower lashes.
  • Contour your eye with a plack eyeliner and draw a cat-eye finish at the outer end of your eye.
  • Emphasize gently the upper end of your eyelid with a black eyeliner and lightlysmudge it.
  • Apply dramatic dark mascara for extra-long lashes.

Gunmetal and Glitter Makeup Idea

No makeup ideas? Don`t worry we have one, which will help you impress everyone around you. It is the gunmetal and glitter makeup, which is suitable for so many occasions.

It is similar to the smokey eye, as it required darker shades, but we`d say it is much more easier.
Simply prime your eyes and apply grey eyeshadow as shown on the picture. The darkest shade should reach the middle of the upper eyelid.
This is also the area, where you need to apply black glitter.

The lower eyelid also requires a little bit of makeup – don`t forget to apply it there, too.
There is no need to line your eyes, but you can do it, if you like the more dramatic effect. Apply mascara and you are done. Just smile now, as you look fabulous!

Women's love with make-up item a long affair

A woman's love affair with make-up has its highs and lows like any relationship, but it can never be a reason to get rid of cosmetic products. A staggering quarter of of those polled admitted to keeping some make-up items for up to 10 years, says a research.

Also a glossy 40 per cent have admitted of not cleaning out their-make-up bags for over a year, with an additional one in 10 women being unable to recall the last time they ever gave their make-up bag a makeover, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The survey was conducted by online grocery store Asda.

The study also reveals that while 80 percent of women wear make-up, two out of five have never cleaned their make up brushes.

Of those surveyed, almost half of women were not aware that mascara should be replaced every three to six months for hygiene reasons, along with eyeliner and powder.

Make-up undoubtedly remains a girl's best friend, the research further reveals that women on average have eight make-up products on the go at any one time.

Lipstick is the most popular handbag staple with 71 per cent admitting it's never far away from their grasp, followed by mascara with a pumped up 39 per cent of women stating this is always at their disposal for a quick volume boost.

The brand also revealed that the majority of women's make-up bags contain at least five 'high street' items and two prestige brands.

"With so many women wearing make-up, it's shocking how many gloss over the importance of keeping their make-up brushes clean," said Christina Dalton, beauty and toiletries expert at Asda.

Makeup tips for working women

One of the many challenges that working women face is choosing the right makeup while going to work.

Says beauty expert Puja Taluja, "Looking competent and professional is incredibly important in a professional setting. But that doesn't mean you have to sport a barefaced look. It can work wonders if you find the right balance between makeup that makes you look gorgeous and enhances your beauty."

Thus, keep it low-maintenance so that you can do it quickly and easily in the morning.

Prep up your face

If you have clear skin, ditch the foundation. To ensure that your face does not start perspiring, apply a compact. After cleansing your face, apply a sunscreen lotion. Avoid applying too much and just pay attention to the oily areas on your face. Press powder all over your face and neck, with a slightly damp sponge. This helps it to set and last longer.

Further, if you wish to apply foundation, use a water-based one. Just add a drop of water for a lighter coverage. Make sure that the foundation should be close to your natural skin tone.

Brighten your eyes

Says beauty expert Shahnaz Husain, "Line your eyelids with brown or gray eye shadow for a softer effect. Apply loads of mascara to make your eyes look brighter. Make sure that the trick is to keep it simple and subtle, without a heavily made-up look." Comb out your lashes and then apply a second coat of mascara if need be.

Ditch the blush

Do not opt for a blush for work. Try to keep it as simple as possible. You may apply a highlighter if you want your cheeks to look chiseled. But make sure that you do not do anything in excess because it may make you look too alluring during day time.

Keep your lips muted

Try and stick to natural shades for office. Colours that are too bright may make you look over the top. Stick to matte-based lipsticks to help them last longer. A gloss or shimmer based one will fade away with time and you will have to keep applying them. Go for pinks, mauve and nude shades that will complement your skin colour.

Keep these in mind

- Wash your face with a deep cleanser. Do not rub your face after washing, else it will develop red marks.
- Use a tinted moisturiser instead of a foundation or compact for work.
- Use light-coloured eye shadows in light pinks and browns for work. Avoid using liquid eye liners as it consumes time.
- Use water-proof mascara.
- A gentle touch-up is okay before you go in for any meetings.

10 makeup tips to look like a diva

Follow these simple rules...

Step 1:

Start by applying some eyeshadow primer all over your eyelids in order to ensure a long-lasting look.

Step 2:

Once you've done that you can start applying gold eyeshadow all over the eyelids. You can always use a neutral/beige/nude tone for the base.

Step 3:

Then the next step is applying a darker (grey) shade, in the centre of your eyelids.

Step 4:

To create a more smoldered effect you will need to apply black eyeshadow to line the upper lash line, making a wing.

Step 5:

Next I'm applying some black gel eyeliner to sharpen the look.

Step 6:

Once you've done that take a fluffy brush to blend the colours and soften the look. You can also use a nude shadow to soften the edges and highlight the brow bone.

Step 7:

Use the same brush to add a hint of grey underneath the lower lash line. Then you can use false eyelashes so you can create a dramatic look. If you decide not to, you can just apply a generous coat of mascara.

Step 8:

Contour the face with some bronzer before finishing off. You can apply it on the hollows of the cheeks, the jawline and the sides of the nose.

Step 9:

Follow this up by dabbing some peach blush on the cheeks.

Step 10:

Finally for the lips, apply a gorgeous shade of red.
