SUPER MOD Smoky Eye Tutorial

You must check out this light smoky eye makeup! It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Bring out your eye shadows, pencils, brushes and mascara, along with a skin tone lipstick and let’s get started!

First thing’s first, you must prepare your eyelids by applying the usual primer. Then outline your eyes with the eye pencil – a brownish color will be the best choice for this type of makeup. Afterwards apply brown eye shadows on top of your upper lid.
You must also shade your eyebrows with the needed products. Take a white or beige eye pencil and follow the 4th step in the picture below.

Put the mascara on and apply your skin tone lipstick and you are ready to go!

Go frosty

A popular beauty trend of 2014 - the shimmering and metallic effect of frosted eye shadows is now a rage.

Would you like to make your eyes look like cake frosting? Glittering eyelids are in and this time, you can play with colours like pink, icy and shimmering whites. Says make-up expert Puja Taluja, "Last year, blue eyelids were quite popular and this year, the frosted eye look has taken the beauty world by storm. They brighten your eyes and provide a contrast to your dark lashes. This is a look that you can sport all year round and also wear with any kind of outfit."

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BASE SHADE

While selecting the base shade, always go for silver. This colour works the best because it makes your shadow colour come through and the smokeys silver hue makes your eyes look bigger and gorgeous.

Makeup How-To: Soft and Natural Eyeshadow

 1. Apply a light taupe shadow over your entire eyelid.

Model Brooke Shunatona, Cosmopolitan.com's assistant beauty and fashion editor, applied MAC's Eyeshadow in Taupe over her eyelid, deepening the color toward her lashline.

2. Line your eyes with black gel liner.

Dip an eyeliner brush into a black gel liner, likeRimmel London's Scandal Eyes Waterproof Gel Liner, and run it along your top lashline, increasing thickness of line as you inch toward the outer corner of your eye.

3. Intensify your cat eye at the outer corners.

Use the same gel liner and a flat-tip eyeshadow brush to add product to your lower lashline from the center out toward the outer corner of your eye. "Make sure the upper and lower line meets at the outer corner of your eye to ensure the liner looks seamless," Cosenzasays.

4. Finish with a light pink lipstick.

Apply a soft pink lipstick, like Benefit's Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Dandelion, and then finish with MAC's Cream Color Base in Luna as a highlighter over the Cupid's bow and on the center of the lower lip.

Done and done. To boost this look for nighttime, blend a deeper brown shadow shade into the crease of your eye and go!
