How to perfect the winged eye look

How to rightly work the winged eye look for a party, minimal makeup, glossy lips

With retro being the theme of the hour, there are several makeup trends from the golden era of 60s' and 70s' that are coming back. And one such makeup trend is the winged eye look. Creating a winged eye look is not a rocket science and one can easily get that look in a few simple steps.

1. Firstly take a tinted moisturizer and apply it all over your face in a circular motion. Blend it all over your face and neck to get an even skin tone.

2. Next use a concealer to cover your under eye dark circles and blemishes. Apply a bit of concealer with your ring finer in circular motion. Apply a bit of translucent powder after that all over your face and neck.

3. Next step is to create a base on your eyes. Take a light brown or a bronze coloured eye shadow and with a brush apply just a thin layer of the same on the upper lids of your eyes.

4. Now use your eye liner and start lining your eyes from the inner corner of your eyes and gradually move outwards in an upward position. For a thicker eye liner use short strokes from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner of the eye. Once you are done with it, use a kohl pencil or a kajal and fill in your lower lash line with it. You can even use a white eye liner at the inner corner of your eyes to give a more dramatic effect. The use of white opens up your eyes giving them more life and making them look bigger.

5. Now use a voluminous mascara in a wiggling motion, as it will open up your eyes instantly.

6. For finishing touches wear a thin layer of peach coloured blush on. For your lips you can either go for a light peach coloured or a nude shaded lip gloss.

Make sure that you keep your makeup minimal and let your eyes do the talking.

  1. This is a great step by step. Though I wouldn't wear the bottom line on a day to day basis - its def a great way to wear OUT. But the top lid was what I needed to know how to do on a day to day. Thanks! Would be really helpful and fun to have a video to watch too.
